EndNote desktop: FAQs and tips

EndNote in Powerpoint

EndNote now installs a Powerpoint plugin, similar to the Word plugin but much more limited.

The EndNote tools in Powerpoint only allow you to insert static citations and references, the references in the presentation do not remain linked to EndNote.

After you have inserted a reference or citation, you cannot change the style, so you must select the correct style before inserting the reference into your Powerpoint slide.

Using EndNote in Powerpoint

  1. Put your cursor in an editable text area (usually a text box)
  2. Select the EndNote tab in Powerpoint.
  3. Select the style to use.
  4. Insert either a citation or a full reference.

You can either use the reference already selected and highlighted in EndNote, or search for the reference details while remaining in Powerpoint.
