EndNote desktop: FAQs and tips

Changing your reference list appearance

Want your reference list to use another font? Need a different-sized hanging indent? Want to separate each reference with a blank line?

Just a few simple clicks can do all that.

  • In Word, change to the EndNote tab on the ribbon toolbar.
  • Click the tiny square icon in the bottom right of the Bibliography section.

  • In the Configure Bibliography dialog box that pops up, change to the Layout tab
  • Change any settings here - font, font size, hanging indent size, etc.
  • To get a blank line between each reference, change the Space After drop-down form None to Single (not Line Spacing, that's the spacing within each reference).
