If you have a Word document where the citations and references have been created using EndNote and the document has not been converted to plain text, you can easily extract all the references into an EndNote library.
1. Run EndNote and open an existing library
2. In Word, change to the EndNote tab of the Word toolbar ribbon.
3. Click on Export to EndNote and select Export Traveling Library
4. You can choose the EndNote library that you already have open, browse to select another EndNote library, or choose to create a new EndNote library for the references in this Word document.
Click OK. Wait patiently for the Export complete pop-up box to appear.
The references will have been added to the library selected.
