We source items from library collections around Australia and the world in order to provide staff and students at Federation University Australia with items not held by our own library. We obtain copies and loans of articles, books, theses & sometimes other library items that Federation does not have.
You are eligible for this service if you are Federation:
If you are unable to access the Document Delivery (DocDel) request form after logging in through your patron record you may request via the Authorised special request form (i.e. 4th-year / Honours undergraduates) (journal articles only).
You can request:
* Inter-library loans are not available for authorised special requesters (4th-year/Honours students, etc.)
Are there any charges that I need to be aware of?
No. There's an allocation from the Library's materials budget for document delivery services so the cost of obtaining requests isn't passed on to you.
I'm a TAFE/Undergraduate student. Can I use document delivery? *
No, not for obtaining material from other libraries. If you are having difficulty obtaining enough quality information to support your assignments from material within the Library collection and open access resources, please contact the Information Desk for advice.
If you need to get a copy of a journal article that is only in print at another campus, this can be supplied to you. See the tab, Intercampus copies.
* There is provision for certain requests for 4th year/honours undergraduate students with authorisation. This extends to electronic copies of material but not inter-library loans of physical items (books, etc.).
Use the Library's feedback facility to let us know how we are performing.
