Reviewing the literature

Synthesisng brings together and presents the results of all included studies. How this is done will depend on the type of review and the question.

If the included studies are similar enough, the results can be combined using statistics to create a meta-analysis. This requires expert statistical knowledge.

The results can be presented using a narrative or thematic approach, presented in tables or graphs, or even as infographics.
