You can often find information about a company by using their own website. Most companies provide access to their latest annual report (sometimes previous reports) and financial statements.

Look for sections labelled:
For example on the BHP website click on Investors > Annual reporting, to see this years annual report or previous reports and lots more.
Note: company websites are usually designed to promote the organisation and its products.
