Choosing the right journal for your research

When selecting a journal to publish in it is important to be aware of the journal's rankings within its discipline. In most institutions and research centres at Federation University there are incentives to publish work in top quartile (Q1) journals in their respective fields as top quartile journals typically demonstrate higher impact, are cited more often, and editorial practices are more reputable.

Journal rankings are based on select criteria, which varies from platform to platform. For more information on research metrics visit the Metrics page of our Publishing subject guide.
