You may wish to have your search strategy peer reviewed, and for some review types this is recommended. It is best done by a librarian or expert colleague. Peer review of search strategies can improve the quality and comprehensiveness of your search and identify errors, leading to improved methodological validity and quality of the review. A standard checklist such as PRESS can be used. If you lack discipline specific knowledge on the topic, it is also worth involving a subject expert to review your search strategy. They can suggest further terms, or key papers to start with.
Another way of evaluating your search is to see if selected key papers appear in your results. If they do not, you can examine them to see what terms or concepts you are missing.
