Partner Student Library Services

For students studying with FedUni at a partner institute - TAFE, undergrad, postgrad, in Australia and outside of Australia

Finding books process - where to start  (Aust based only)

1. Try your local institute library first for copies of textbooks. You are expected to purchase textbooks yourself and FedUni Library does not send TEXTBOOKS to partner institutes.

2. Try FedUni Library (Remember: FedUni Library does not loan textbooks). There may be an e-textbook version available online, or an older edition you could borrow.

3. Still no luck? Try BONUS+ (a combined catalogue of many university libraries). Place a request and the book will be posted to you at your institute.

4. Other Libraries. Still can't find it? Try a local library and borrow through CAVAL or ULANZ.

5. Ask for help. Contact your local librarian, or FedUni Library.

Requesting books to be posted - Aust based only

Bonus+

Try BONUS+ items

The  initiative allows students and staff to borrow items from other libraries if they are unavailable in our collection.  Books are posted from the participating library to FedUni then to you at your partner library pickup location.

You can watch videos with information about accessing BONUS+ resources or read to learn more on the Library webpage.

Try other libraries

Victoria only

In Victoria, FedUni students have access to CAVAL - a reciprocal borrowing program where staff and students from participating institutions are able to borrow in person from other Victorian academic libraries.

Australia wide

ULANZ - a borrowing scheme that allows FedUni students to borrow in person from any other participating university library. Visit the ULANZ website for more information.

How to Register:

Visit the lending Library. Registration is done directly at the lending library and is a simple process. There is no need to contact your own university library. The lending library will supply you with a borrowing card, usually on the spot during weekday business hours.

You will need to provide a photo ID as well as proof of current enrolment from your home university. This could be student ID card, enrolment advice or other proof from FedUni.

Some libraries may charge a fee for registration. For a list of participating Universities, click here.
