Document Delivery Services:

What is Document Delivery all about?

We source items from library collections around Australia, and the world and deliver these documents to you. We obtain copies and loans of articles, books, & theses for you which FedUni & BONUS+ doesn't have.

You are eligible for this service if you are FedUni:

  • Staff
  • PhD students
  • Masters students
  • Honours students
  • Graduate Diploma/Certificate students
  • Authorised special request authorised (ie 4th Year and undergraduate honours) (doesn't include ILL books)

What can I request?

You can request:

  • books, conference papers, proceedings, theses, multimedia in their hardcopy for loan (called Interlibrary loan) where neither FedUni nor BONUS+ has a copy available*
  • Printed or PDF copies of material not held in a FedUni campus library (book chapter, journal article, thesis)
  • Printed or PDF copies of print-only material held at any Federation University Australia campus library (ie journal article from journal in closed access, or print-only article at campus you are not located at). For copies from other campus' of FedUni see Intercampus Copies.

*Interlibrary loans not available for Authorised special requests (4th years etc)

Are there any charges that I need to be aware of?

No. There's an allocation from the Library's materials budget for document delivery services so the cost of obtaining requests isn't passed on to you.

I'm a TAFE/Undergraduate student. Can I use document delivery*?

No, not for obtaining material from other libraries. If you are having difficulty obtaining enough quality information to support your assignments from material within the Library collection and open access resources, please contact the Information Desk for advice.

If you need to get a copy of a journal article that is only in print at another campus, this can be supplied to you. See the tab, Intercampus copies.

*There is provision for limited requests for 4th years and undergraduate honours students with authorisation. This extends to electronic copies of material but not inter library loan (physical books).
